Hee Hee Hee

simply gorgeous, dahling!

i made these wonderful arm warmers for my kick-arse, me-love-u-long-time friend, Kelley D's b-day. This yarn is deliciouso: kathmandu in blossom. the flowers are the first of many from Nicky Epstein's Knitted Flowers ribbed up in Manos del Uruguay. merino • silk • cashmere • cotton -- the best of many worlds!!

oh, and the flowers? they're detachable broaches! cool, huh?!

Happy Born Day

Happy Born Day to me! and what a lovely day it has been. i believe that my b-day celebrations began on Friday April 21st when the wonderful Sophia gave me an awesome book on knitted flowers...this triggered a crazy slew of amazing gifts and well wishes. oh, where to begin! the hubs presented me with a large gift bag at midnight. even tho, according to mother, i was not officially born until 7:45pm. oh well, i could not stop him (and he couldn't stop me either!)... the gift bag contained a gift bag which contained yet another gift bag, which led to a box and then to another box. (yes, the hubs is quite the jokester and a true romantic!) covered in tissue paper and empty gift bags and boxes, i eventually found ---> my very own nano! it is the sweetest thing, so black and sleek. i LOVE it!! when i got to work there were flowers from monica and more flowers from bonnie

and a gorgeous necklace made by my beautiful friend, KO with a cute card she made for me

and kind don rolled up his rim to win and gave the winning cup to me! and then we all had a huge portugese chicken feast for lunch, followed by not one but TWO birthday cakes: one for the wheat-free in me, a carob spelt cake and another for the hard working gang, carrot cake.

i am so very very full!! full of love and laughter and well, chicken & cake!

more to come...the day/night is still young (and so am I!)

Easter Socks

better late than never! these here are some easter socks i made for my mom. easter because they look like easter eggs and also 'cause i gave them to her on easter sunday. she picked the yarn herself and requested that they be short. i love them so much, i'm making a pair for myself! this would mark my first attempt at a lace like cuff. a little wonky, but hey -- i tried!

5 Peculiar Places

i can't resist a contest! thanks to Dipsy D, i found myself at Sidney's which linked me to Kat's, which led me to the 5 most peculiar places i've knit:
  • the streetcar
  • the Go train
  • The Swan (while my hubby's band played)
  • Bad Dog Theatre (waiting for GlobeHead to start)
  • while soaking in the tub
