Haul-o-ween!

I'd been concerned with what to wear to this fall's TTC Knit-A-Long III: The Round-Up, and that cat wouldn't lend me her costume. I'm sure that it wouldn't have fit anyway, so I decided to entertain the ladies by making myself a wig and showing up as the King. Who can resist a knitting Elvis. I kinda followed the pattern from this here and picked up some Paton's Boa and a whole hunka stuffing. It was a crazy piece to knit. A quick project between others. The gold lamé-ish wrist warmers were done from some sparkley twine scooped from Lewiscraft.

Long live the King

There was so much to you-dle doo-dle dye for. A true yarn-apalozza!

First Stop -- AlterKnits, 1024 St. Clair. Groovy place. Lotsa room. Yummy snacks. Comfy chairs. Roomy tables and a wall full'o yarn.

After much fondling, fearles leader, Captain Pirate Vivienne, took half of the troup over to Knit-O-Matic while the rest of us stayed behind with KAL Co-Capitain extraordinaire Sophie.

Stop Two: The second half of the rabble decends upon Haley and Kugo (aka Pluto) at Knit-O-Matic...
Haley treated us to some sweet sock yarn. And we tricked ourselves into believing that credit was good. We bid adieu to the fair princesses and kugo, the plutoneon lovebird, and hopped back on transit for Kensington Market. No yarn-tastrophes on the road this year. Although Lilly and her 2 socks-at-a-time sadly parted ways and we waited quite a while for a Bathurst streetcar. Whuddizupwit'dat!? The gals kept busy knitting and then...

Lettuce! Lettuce Knit!
I've been dreaming about a few things I had felt up at Lettuce Knit a little while ago. I took advantage of the passport discount and bagged some Fleece Artist Peter Rabbit, a Hand Maiden scarf kit and Blue Sky Alpaca Brushed Suri in Fudgesicle (to mix with some Pink Lemoade I have resting at home). There was a moment when the sun came out and made out with the sock yarn, I couldn't help falling in love with Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Black Purl.

The Last Stop -- With a hunk-a-burnin bags full of yarn, we headed to the Red Room -- to drink, dine and dish out some prizes! I was truly honoured to represent the North Team's Best Costume. I also took home the Most Original Knitted Object, a festive shrug kit from Needful. Thank you, thank you very much...

And thanks to all of the kick-ass leaders and local yarn shops for all of their hard work. Congrats on another, incredibly, succesful TTC Kal!

Knit-O-Pals: Lisa, Jacquie and Sophie burn it up at the Red Room.

and I head to my bedroom for a much need nap before preparing for the descent...

Heaven and Hell. Good and Evil. Devils. Demons. Angels and Saints. A spooky fest held by God (Kelley) and Satan (Andre)...God was smokin'!

What a badass bash! With such guests in attendance as Frankenferter, The Wicked Witch of the West. Damian. A Virgin. Pandora's Box. Dorian Gray. Crazy Devil Courtney Love and Angel Kurt Cobain fit right in...

A happy and exhausting halloween it wuzzz! I've removed all traces of mascara, the Elvis wig made an appearance at work and I've got a hunka hunka burnin' yarn flamin' in the corner!
